Ad Configuration
Per-workspace targeting profile — audience types, default targeting, lead forms, CTAs.
Hub admins create audience types and defaults; workspaces customize within those limits. Playbooks pull from this at deploy time.
How it works
Two layers per workspace:
- Default tab — baseline targeting (demographics, locations, CTA) that applies unless overridden
- Audience type tabs — named presets (
Database,Mass,Lookalike) that override the default for specific use cases
When a playbook ad set targets Database, Flamel pulls that workspace's Database configuration at deploy.

Common audience types
| Name | Strategy |
|---|---|
| Database | Custom audience from customer list (CRM upload) |
| Mass | Broad demographics, no audience filter |
| Lookalike | 1–3% lookalike from customer list |
| Retargeting | Custom audience from pixel data |
| VIP | Top spenders from CRM |
2–3 is typical; more than 5 usually means over-engineered strategy.

Common questions
Audience types
What's the difference between an audience type and a custom audience?
- Audience type — a named preset in Flamel (
Database,Mass) that bundles a targeting strategy - Custom audience — a list of people in Meta (website visitors, CRM uploads, lookalikes) that an audience type might use
How many audience types should I create? 2–3 covers most brands. More than 5 usually means over-engineered strategy.
Can workspaces create their own audience types? No. Hub-only, to keep targeting consistent across the network.
What happens if I delete an audience type? It's removed from every workspace and breaks any playbook that references it. Before deleting, update referencing playbooks to use a different type.
Targeting & permissions
What can workspaces customize?
With paid_ads_management: targeting radius, custom audiences, local interests, website URL, lead form. They can't change audience types or Hub-locked detailed targeting.
How do I grant a workspace more control?
Organization → Permissions → enable paid_ads_management on their role. Super Admins get it automatically.
What does the green/red status dot mean? 🟢 location targeting is configured. 🔴 missing — campaigns won't deploy.
Syncing
How do I sync audiences from Meta? Audience type tab → Custom Audiences → Sync Audiences. Pulls the latest from the workspace's connected Meta ad account.
How do I sync lead forms? Lead Capture → Sync Forms. Forms must be published (not draft) in Meta and copied to the workspace's Page.
Why don't my Meta audiences appear? Custom audience may still be processing in Meta; workspace might not be on the right ad account (check Connected Accounts); audience may be archived in Meta.
CTA & lead forms
What's CTA fallback? Audience-type CTA → Default tab CTA → Hub default. Set CTA once on Default; audience types inherit unless overridden.
Why aren't my lead forms appearing in my playbook? Playbook objective must be Leads, and the audience type's Lead Capture must have a form selected. If a workspace lacks a form, the playbook can't deploy for them.
Can I use the same form across workspaces? No — leads route to the Page the form lives on. Copy the form to each workspace's Page in Meta, then sync into Flamel.
Add / remove locations
A new franchisee joined — how do I add them? Run Onboard a new workspace. The Ad Configuration step covers the table row.
A location closed — what's the cleanup? Add / Delete a studio location in Ad Configuration ↗ + Close a workspace.
Advantage+
Should I enable Meta's Advantage+ audience? For conversion campaigns where Meta has room to optimize, yes. Skip for compliance-restricted categories (housing, credit, employment) and small / defined audiences you don't want diluted.
