Managing budgets
Set, edit, pause, and cancel monthly advertising budgets for your workspaces.
For Hub admins. Setting a budget creates a Stripe subscription that bills the workspace on each cycle. See Hub setup if Stripe isn't connected yet.
Set a budget
Open Billing → Budgets
Search to find the workspace.
Enter the monthly amount and Save
Creates the Stripe subscription. Stripe charges automatically on each billing cycle.
Open Scribe: Set a workspace budget ↗
Editing Budgets
To change a workspace's monthly budget:
- Click the budget amount next to the workspace name
- Enter the new amount
- Save your changes
The Stripe subscription updates automatically. If you increase the budget mid-cycle, the workspace may receive a prorated charge for the difference.
Pausing and Resuming
You can temporarily pause billing for a workspace without losing the subscription:
- Pause: The workspace will not be charged on the next billing cycle. Their ads can continue running.
- Resume: Billing picks up on the next cycle at the same budget amount.
Use the action menu next to each workspace to pause or resume.
Canceling
Canceling a subscription permanently stops billing for that workspace. You will need to create a new subscription to restart billing.
Billing status
The Budgets page shows each workspace's status at a glance:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Subscription is running, workspace will be billed |
| Paused | Subscription is paused, no charges until resumed |
| Past Due | Payment failed on the last invoice |
| No Payment Method | Workspace has not added a payment method yet |
Budget Requests
Workspaces can request budget increases. These appear in Billing > Budgets for you to approve or deny. When approved, the subscription updates automatically.
Playbook Allocations
When workspaces opt into playbooks with budgets, their committed spend is shown alongside their monthly budget. This helps you see how much of each workspace's budget is allocated to active playbooks.
