Connecting Platforms
Step-by-step instructions for connecting each social media platform.
Each social platform has its own connection process, but they all follow the same basic pattern: click Connect, log in to the platform, authorize Flamel, and select which accounts to manage.
Facebook and Instagram
Meta handles Facebook and Instagram connections together since Instagram Business accounts are managed through Facebook.
Connecting Facebook Pages
- Click Connect Facebook in your Connected Accounts
- Log in to Facebook (if not already logged in)
- Review the Pages you administer
- Select the Pages you want to manage through Flamel
- Grant the requested permissions
- Complete the connection
Connecting Instagram
If your Facebook Pages have linked Instagram Business accounts, you'll see the option to connect those Instagram accounts during the Facebook connection flow. Select the Instagram accounts you want to include.
Important: Only Instagram Business or Creator accounts linked to a Facebook Page can be connected. Personal Instagram accounts cannot be connected through the API.
Permissions Requested
The permissions Flamel requests are the minimum needed for content management:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Publish content | Post to your Pages and Instagram |
| Read insights | Analytics and performance data |
| Manage comments | Community management features |
| View account info | Display account details in Flamel |
LinkedIn connections focus on Company Pages — personal profiles aren't supported since LinkedIn's API is designed for company content.
Connecting LinkedIn Pages
- Click Connect LinkedIn in your Connected Accounts
- Log into your LinkedIn account
- Authorize Flamel access
- Select which Company Page to connect
- Complete the authorization
After authorization, your Company Page appears in your connected accounts and is available when creating posts.
Requirements
- You must have admin access to the Company Page
- Editor-only access is not sufficient for third-party app authorization
- Multiple Company Pages can be connected if you administer more than one
TikTok
TikTok connection works similarly to other platforms but has specific requirements for content.
Connecting TikTok
- Click Connect TikTok in your Connected Accounts
- Log into your TikTok account
- Authorize Flamel to publish on your behalf
- Complete the connection
TikTok Content Requirements
TikTok has specific requirements for video content:
| Requirement | Specification |
|---|---|
| Format | MP4 or WebM |
| Aspect ratio | 9:16 (vertical) preferred |
| Duration | Platform limits apply |
| File size | Platform limits apply |
Flamel will warn you if uploaded content doesn't meet TikTok's requirements before you attempt to publish.
X (Twitter)
X connections allow posting tweets, threads, and media content.
Connecting X
- Click Connect X in your Connected Accounts
- Log into your X account
- Authorize Flamel to post on your behalf
- Complete the authorization
X API Considerations
X's API has various tiers with different capabilities. Some advanced features may depend on your X account type and API access level.
| Feature | Availability |
|---|---|
| Basic posting | All accounts |
| Media posting | All accounts |
| Threads | All accounts |
| Advanced features | May vary by account type |
Connection Tips
Use the right account. Make sure you're logged into the correct personal account that has admin access to the business Pages you want to connect.
Check permissions before connecting. Verify you have admin (not just editor) access on the Pages or accounts you want to connect.
Connect during setup. Don't wait until you need to post — connect accounts as soon as they're created to avoid last-minute issues.
Note who authenticated. Document which team member's personal account was used to authenticate business accounts for future reference.
